This a family business – the Sheaves family has lived at Cuckoo Down Farm since 1959. We are John and Becky Sheaves and have been running a campsite here now for three years, with help from our children.
Our farm has five fields, and a three-acre oak wood, with a pretty stream running through it. Look out for swallows, foxes, rabbits, badgers, deer and owls. We’re a working farm with a flock of Suffolk sheep.
Here, you really can chill out in peace and quiet. You’re a mile from the nearest road and 300 yards from our farmhouse. We have three yurts in a six-acre meadow. We allow small campfires in the evenings and on clear nights we have amazing stars.
The yurts and gypsy caravan all have their own compost loo, kitchen and standpipe of fresh drinking water within 15 feet. The yurts are cosily furnished with a double bed, two double sofa beds, carpets, rugs, cushions and a woodburning stove. The gypsy caravan has a king-sized double bed and space to sleep 1-2 small children. Each kitchen has a bottled gas stove (two rings and a grill), crockery, glassware and cutlery all provided.
Our yurts each have three double beds. We allow up to four adults per yurt or six people including children. We have hot showers, washing machine, fridges and tumble dryer a five minute walk from the yurts. There’s also a power point for re-charging phones etc. There’s plenty of parking onsite and we are fully insured.
